San Diego Comic-Con Gathers Fans of All Genres in San Diego
About 2 year(s) ago by Days Inn San Diego Hotel Circle
San Diego Comic-Con fills the convention center and brings fans of all genres, including comic books, anime, science fiction, horror, and more, together to revel in geeky goodness July 21-24. There are four days of panels, workshops, previews, costumes, and fun.
Come on Preview Night July 20 to get a head-start on the action. Check out the spectacular work in Artists Alley and the Art Show. In the Exhibitor Hall, you'll find every collectible you crave. There may be special Comic-Con Exclusives. Fan groups have their own tables.
The pros at the event include special guests Jason Aaron, who wrote the female Thor and new Star Wars books; Sergio Aragones, a long-time contributor to MAD Magazine; Allen Bellman, who worked on classic Captain America; and Berke Breathed, creator of Bloom County, Outland, and Opus.
There's going to be a four-day schedule of Anime screening, a special Children's Film Festival, an Independent Film Festival featuring work from around the world, plus additional film screenings throughout the event.
The Costume Masquerade is always a highlight of the con. Whether you're officially entered in the competition or not, costumes are definitely acceptable dress. Just leave your working blast guns at home.
If you're serious about comics and hope to make a career in the industry, the Portfolio Review program gets you the chance to meet insiders and get an honest appraisal of your abilities. The weekend of fun could lead to a lifelong fun job if things work out well!
The Days Inn San Diego Hotel Circle is less than 10 miles from the Convention Center, meaning you won't need super powers to get to all your favorite events on time.
