Long, cold, gray winter days getting you down? San Diego stays sunny and warm even in winter, with temperatures reaching the 60s and 70s. Visit during winter and you can enjoy all our great attractions, including the outdoor ones, without bundling up and with fewer crowds!
Meet the Animals
If you're an animal lover, you'll find plenty of animals to admire. We're home to the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, SeaWorld, and the Birch Aquarium. Head to the cliffs in La Jolla to see seals on the rocks. During winter, gray whales migrate off our shores. You can watch from on shore at Point Loma or take a whale watching cruise.
Spend a Day in the Park
Balboa Park is filled with so many attractions that you'll need more than a day to fully explore it. Walk or bike its trails beneath the palm trees; explore the gardens; visit an art museum, natural history museum, or museum dedicated to planes, trains, or automobile; or take a ride on a carousel or miniature railroad.
Explore Our History
Visit Old Town State Historic Park for a glimpse of old adobe houses and frontier flavor. Old Town is also a great destination for shopping and some of San Diego's best Mexican food. Another historic district to explore is the Gaslamp Quarter, where the Victorian buildings are now home to boutiques and cafes.
Enjoy Your San Diego Hotel's Amenities
Come on in, the water's fine! The swimming pool at Days Inn Hotel Circle near SeaWorld is heated, so you don't have to leave the hotel in search of fun. But when you want to head out to see the sights, just hop on the Old Town Trolley Tour, which stops right in front of the hotel. You can explore all over town without breaking a sweat on a San Diego winter break!
