At the cultural heart of San Diego, Balboa Park is a stunning urban landscape that seamlessly merges art, culture and recreation. Here, guests find over 15 museums, world-class performing arts venues and some of the most famous sights in San Diego. Balboa Park is home to incredible attractions including the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Art Institute, Museum of Art, San Diego Natural History Museum, Museum of Photographic Arts, Old Globe Theater and the Japanese Friendship Garden. Families are invited to explore the Fleet Science Center, browse green spaces or stroll through the park's beautiful cultivated gardens.
Park is open 24 hours; Visitor's center is open from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm daily

ARE THERE FAMILY-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES AT BALBOA PARK?
Families will find plenty to do during their visit. Fun activities and sights for kids include the San Diego Natural History Museum, the San Diego Air & Space Museum, the Fleet Science Center and the Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theatre. The world-famous San Diego Zoo is also located onsite and is undoubtedly one of the most famous family attractions at the park.
ARE THERE ANY FREE ATTRACTIONS AT BALBOA PARK?
The park is free and open to the public and offers plenty to see and do on a budget. The gardens and trails are free to explore, as is the Botanical Building or the Timken Art Museum. During weekends, guests can check out the botanical garden shows located inside the Casa Del Prado building, or check the calendar for one of the free Sunday lawn programs outside of the international cottages.
