2022 San Diego Music Festivals and Events to Get Excited About
It’s just true: no matter when you visit, there’s always something fun to do in San Diego. After dealing with a tough few years of having to either cancel or reschedule the most anticipated big events, San Diego is poised to stage a big return to form in 2022. Here’s the low-down on all the biggest and best San Diego music festivals, get-togethers, block parties and other events coming back to the area in 2022.
KAABOO Food and Music Festival (4.5 miles away, Dates TBD)
San Diego’s favorite music festival had to take a break in 2021, but this year will see its triumphant return. Petco Park will once again play host to the festival, which always features loads of amazing local food, an energetic atmosphere, and more music than you can shake a (drum)stick at. The dates, schedule and lineup are still being finalized for this year, but KAABOO is one festival that never disappoints — so you won’t want to miss it.

CRSSD Fest (4.6 miles away, March 5–6, 2022)
CRSSD Fest is the west coast’s premier electronic, techno, and house music event. After a necessary safety hiatus, the festival is back with a vengeance in 2022, and ready to turn up the sound. This year will bring entertainment to Waterfront Park courtesy of acts like Chet Faker, Gorgon City, Felix da Housecat, Glass Animals, Four Tet, and many more. Attendees will also enjoy craft beer, arts vendors, specialty food and lots of surprises.

San Diego Brew Fest (4.4 miles away, June 11, 2022)
With more than 150 breweries in and around the metro, San Diego has swiftly become one of the country’s premier craft beer capitals. Aficionados of micro, small-batch and craft brews can sample some of the city’s best beers at this festival, as well as a deep selection of other regional brews, and even international varieties. Live music, some of the city’s most popular food trucks and plenty of surprises will also keep things lively.

San Diego Comic-Con (5.2 miles away, July 21-24, 2022)
The world’s biggest all-ages convention of comics culture returns to the San Diego Convention Center in summer of 2022 in July. The reputation of Comic-Con precedes it for fans of pop culture. For the uninitiated, Comic-Con is a massive event that draws more than 135,000 attendees every year, all of whom are there to celebrate the impact that all things superhero, sci-fi, fantasy, and magic have had on our collective consciousness. Elaborate costumes, board-game tournaments, video games, panel discussions, writers, artists, meet-and-greets, and (of course) comics galore will greet visitors at the con.

San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering (Dates TBD)
Now in its 14th year, this youth and family-focused tech festival brings together business and government leaders, community organizations, schools, and parents to create a massive learning outreach for young people interested in STEAM fields. Several events will occur across multiple locations across the city, and will include food trucks, a scavenger hunt, nature walks, competitions, art displays, hands-on exhibits, and lots of educational fun.
Adams Avenue Street Fair (4.1 miles away, September 24–25, 2022)
The city’s favorite annual celebration of music, food, art and culture will be a can’t-miss 2022 event, especially after having had no option but to take a hiatus last year. Attendees will enjoy music, food, arts and crafts vendors, local craft beer tastings, and more. This year’s fair will host more than 100 musical acts over seven stages, so there’s certain to be something for everyone of all ages. When you go, you’ll also discover carnival rides, cultural events, and endless fun for the whole family. The best part? Admission is always free.

San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival (5.4 miles away, November 11–14, 2022)
When most people think of California wines, they think of Napa Valley. Still, the varied terrain, endless sunshine, and rich soil of areas like San Pasqual Valley, Rancho Bernardo, and nearby Julian have ideal conditions for vineyard growth, and the wineries of these areas are creating some impressive bottles worth checking out. San Diego celebrates this amazing wine culture at the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival, which makes a grand return this year. Expect great food, entertainment, and vintage bottles aplenty.
