A staple of the San Diego dining scene, the Taste of Hillcrest transforms this upscale neighborhood into a gastronomic experience. Held this year on Saturday, April 14, 2018, from 12 PM to 4 PM, this savory walking tour features over 35 restaurants, all bringing something fantastic to the table.
The Restaurants
Hillcrest restaurants are no secret among San Diego foodies. Home to Baja Betty’s, Taste of Thai, Fig Tree Cafe, and Trust, a turn off Washington Street will take you straight to a world of culinary delights. As one can expect, the Taste of Hillcrest presents it all beautifully. You’ll find yourself deciding between freshly-caught sushi, traditional Italian dishes, decadent doughnuts, sumptuous American comfort food, and some of the city’s best tacos (coming from San Diego, that’s saying something).
How to Get There, and What to Do Afterwards
Once you’ve arrived, you’ll need to check in (it helps prevent long lines). If you’ve purchased tickets online, bring the printed ticket or ticket saved to your phone to your chosen check-in station, and receive your official Tasting Card and Event Map. Day of Tickets will be available at both check-in stations.
Not only is Hillcrest just a short drive from our hotel, the event organizers have made it easy to sample it all: A free shuttle is provided for all participants, a great choice if you’d like to make a day out of exploring the area. Rich’s Nightclub will serve as a refresher station for attendees to stop by and enjoy cocktails and drinks.
Admission Info
Participants must be over the age of 21 to sample beers. Tickets are $30 and will be $35 on the day of the event. Over the last few years, the event has sold out in advance, so we suggest buying tickets early to account for how popular it’s become.
